Music Rising Announces the National Music Education Disaster Relief Coalition

Music Rising has announced the National Music Education Disaster Relief Coalition. This coalition brings together esteemed organizations, including the CMA Foundation, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, Music Will, National Association for Music Education, NAMM Foundation, Recording Academy / GRAMMYs, and Save The Music, all united to support schools affected by natural disasters, including the recent fires in Los Angeles County and hurricanes Helene and Milton. Music Rising is also partnering with Gibson Gives and the Guitar Center Foundation. The coalition aims to rebuild music programs, providing instruments and essential resources to ensure that affected students continue to experience the transformative power of music education. U2 and Green Day Record “The Saints Are Coming” For The City of New Orleans

2006 – Preparing for the re-opening of the Louisianna Superdome after the horrific Hurricane Katrina disaster. U2 and Green Day performed “The Saints Are Coming” in a remarkable show of celebration for the city of New Orleans and as the half-time show for when the New Orleans Saints first played in the Superdome after the hurricane. Music Rising was there and both legendary bands performed to a sold out stadium. Here you see the performers in the studio recording the single right after the performance.
